Holli's Senior Pictures

Got to do my first set of senior pictures for Holli. It was a lot of fun doing these. We first met at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and Japanese Gardens. Always a beautiful place to make some pictures. She also wanted to do some western style shots so we met on a Saturday and went to her aunts house who lives in Itasca. They have a really nice place. Lots of land, a horse and a barn or two with a few pieces of old farm equipment. Really a great setting for taking pictures. I've know Holli since she was maybe 12 or 13, she's the niece of my best friend Wayne. It was an honor to have them pick me to do her senior pictures. Really had a blast doing them. Matts bobber

A friend at church who we used to ride with started back to school a year ago and had to sell his bike to help pay for his schooling. Well not long ago his car broke down beyond repair and he was having to rely on friends and family to help him get around. Pastor mentioned that he would like to get either a bike or car for him, something super cheap that we could rebuild and give to him so he would be able to get around town by himself. Just so happened that Jeff, one of the guys that was with us when pastor mentioned it, said he had just been given a bike, a early 80's Honda CB600, and that we could work on it to get it running and then give it to Matt. It took a while to get in running order. The church didn't have the money to send it to a shop to be rebuilt so Jeff, Mark and Randy worked on it when they could and found parts and modded others to fit on the bike. It's truly one of a kind. I wasn't able to do much having just had wrist surgery when they started working on it, but I was able to take pictures of the build process. Here's the story in pictures. These guys did an amazing job working on it, hats off to Jeff, Mark and Randy for their time and effort in putting this bike together.

Eliana and family

Did my first family shoot last week. Went pretty well. Met at Clint and Paisli's house and went to a park that they live close to. Got quit a few good ones. Luckily I had the help of my sister Rebekah and my niece Madison with me and they helped keep little Eliana's attention when it was time to take a picture. Couldn't have done it with Madison there! Eliana really took a liking to her. When we were done at the park we went back to their house to try and do some portrait shots of just Eliana. I need to really work on that style. Main thing I need to work on, is making sure I have all my equipment with me. Does no good to bring an off camera flash and umbrella and reflector if you dont bring a sync cord to fire the flash.... Could have sworn I put it in the bag... Lesson learned. Ended up having to use available light from overhead lamps. Those aren't very good for photography. Oh wells, maybe next time...

Keith and Sheila Austin

July 4th isn't just for celebrating Americas Independence. It's also for celebrating Keith and Sheila's wedding anniversary. Or at least it is now. The wedding took place at an amazing location, the Marty Leonard Chapel in Fort Worth and the reception was held at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens Restaurant. Both beautiful places.

Please click here for a photo gallery of the wedding and reception.

Tifany

Had a chance to do some head shots for Tifany, a great friend of mine. Went and picked my sister up and met Tifany over in the Arts District in Fort Worth. We had originally planned to take pictures in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens but it's closed on weekend nights during the summer for concerts that they have on the grounds. Can't get in unless you pay, and there were a lot of people there so we ended up driving around the museums to see what we could find but didn't really see anything that stood out to us. So we headed across the highway to the log cabin park across the street from the Fort Worth Zoo. And as luck would have it, the Log Cabin part of the park was closed... But at least there was an open grass and wooded area that we were able to work with. We did a few poses in front of some trees and even found one large tree that had recently been cut down and we were able to get some shots there. We still had good light going just before sun set and hopped back in the car to head up a couple of blocks to the TCU campus. Found a nice church with some  old wooden doors along with a nice little courtyard. As we were about to call it quits I noticed a wall that was covered in ivy so we ran over there and set up the flash on an umbrella and got a couple of good shots with the ivy in the background.

For a first head shot shoot, it went pretty well. Can't wait to do more of her! Please click here for the gallery.
